The outrageously funny Kumar sold out his 5-show run at the Esplanade last year before the shows even started and when he finally hit the stage, everyone was squealing with laughter! Uncontrollable madness!
After 17 years in the "funny-biz", Kumar, the undisputed Drag-Queen of local comedy stripped off more than just the skin-tight panty hose and turned his "no-holds-barred" wicked sense of humour onto himself.
Nothing is sacred as he shares the hilarious (yet moving) stories of his growing up years with his Dad, how he was discovered in a dress after Boom Boom Room and his many escapades during Basic Military Training. There is nothing basic about this show which incorporates a wonderful "mini-docu" and culminates in Kumar showing off his dancing skills with Singapore's best known tabla-man, Maniam.
The wait is over! Sebastian Tan a.k.a. Broadway Beng returns with a “super-size” show at THE ESPLANADE! It’s time to Jiak Liu Lian!
From the line-dancing auntie at the community centre to the stylo-mylo, laptop-toting yuppie, audiences have been entertained by Broadway Beng’s misadventures as a Hokkien-speaking, Broadway-singing boy from ‘Ang Swa’ (Redhill).
This fourth installment promises more glitz, more glamour and more side-splitting laughter for the audience as Broadway Beng takes on the liu lian… er, we mean, The Esplanade, with his 8 all-singing, all-dancing Chio Buus and 5-piece Ge-Tai band.
Hossan Leong, Singapore’s very own funny boy, returns to the stage with his very own “TV” talk show. A TV talk show on stage?! That’s because he gets to pull out all the stops out and ignore the TV censors. Naughty…naughty…
This show will have you rolling in the aisles as this all-singing comedian injects his wit and musical talents into current affairs like the Economic Crunch, N1H1 virus and the very latest on Mas Selamat, so you’ll be AWARE of happenings on our little but complex island.
Come expecting all your favourite talk show segments like silly games and “International guest star” interviews. We hear Mariah Scarey is even making an appearance! Supported by the Wacky Chua Enlai (Sayang Sayang), the Zany Celine Rosa Tan (Snow White & The Seven Dwarves), the Crazy Karen Tan (Sleepless Town) and his very own band, Hossan will give you a show that will blow you and your worries away!
Warning: A show so funny, it hurts! (Don’ch say we neh say)

(May 2000) Civil servants... arhhh... what's so civil about being a servant? Well, in the space of two hours filled with jokes, parodies and songs, you might just figure that one out.
Who among us has not spent hours waiting in queue at a minister counter or with the phone to our red hot ear listening to the tinkling sound of music box or better yet some voice recorded message telling you to press a number for every service except the one that you are looking for?
Watch the two sides meet in a hilarious juxtaposition of power and patheticness in a system that drives civilians up the wall each day.

Cabaret: A Single Woman "WHAT do you call a little musical that makes absolutely no sense? Why, nonsensical, of course - just about the best word to describe the madcap variety show, Cabaret: A Single Woman." Starring three of Singapore's funniest women - Selena Tan, Pamela Oei and Emma Yong - the hour-long song-dance-stand-up-comedy act offers a 'kick-back, relax and laugh yourself silly' session.
Cabaret features the three women playing a range of famous female characters, including Mother Teresa, Cinderella, Little Bo Peep and Imelda Marcos. The hour long show touches on topics like, being born a woman and searching for a man, bras, shoe fetishes, divas and ended with some quirkily subverted nursery rhyme characters.
This show was produced by The Esplanade and was featured during the the Opening Festival in October 2002.
